  1. CHARACTERIZATION AND PRODUCTIVITY OF FORAGE SPECIES IN EBONYI STATE RANGELAND
    Abstract
    Ebonyi State rangeland grouped into Ebonyi Centra,North,and South were surveyed to characterize and determine the productivity of the bforage species in the rangeland.Eighty one forage species were identified by random sampling of the three rangeland geopolitical zones of Eboyi State for twenty times.The characterization of the identified forage species was carried out according to their utilization by ruminants and the agrnomical features they possess.The data collected from characterization based on utilization by ruminants were subjected to randomized complete block design for analysis. Significance difference at (p0.05)was observed among the forage species productivities in the three geopolitical rangeland zones.Though there were no significance difference at (p>0.05) among the forage species productivities,legume recorded the highest mean value.
